Information for Ph.D. Applicants

Before starting your application for the Ph.D. program at Lumbini Buddhist University, please prepare the following documents and information as per the requirements specified in the application form:

1. Personal Details

      • Full name in English and Devanagari (if applicable for native applicants).
      • Contact information:
      • Address (Home and Office).
      • Telephone numbers (landline and mobile).
      • Email address.

2. Documents Required

      1. Photographs:
        • Recent passport-sized photographs (color) as per the application requirements.
      2. Previous Academic Documents:
        • Certificates and transcripts from undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
        • Graduation certificates and marksheets for all levels of education.
      3. Proof of Language Proficiency:
        • Documents supporting your proficiency in relevant languages (English, Nepali, Sanskrit, Pali, etc.), if applicable.
      4. Master’s Thesis:
        • Title and brief summary of your Master’s thesis.
      5. Articles or Publications:
        • At least 3 Full research articles(3000 Words) previously published (including one peer-reviewed article, author details, journal name, volume, and year).
        • An abstract of the latest publication related to your proposed dissertation research, if applicable.
      6. Proposed Dissertation Information:
        • The tentative title of your Ph.D. dissertation.
        • Medium of research (language).

3. Employment and Experience

      1. Details of current employment:
      2. Name of the institution/university/organization.
      3. Department or division.
      4. Position or status.
      5. Professional experience (if any):
        • Institutions worked for, positions held, and duties performed (state whether full-time or part-time).
        • Recommendation letter from employer.
        • Duration of employment (start and end dates).

4. Additional Requirements

    • Prepare a concise research proposal or statement of purpose outlining your Ph.D. goals.
    • Ensure your application form is signed and dated.

General Notes

    • Ensure all documents are clear, legible, and properly scanned (if submitted digitally).
    • Documents not in English must be accompanied by certified translations.
    • Keep multiple copies of your documents for personal reference and potential resubmission.

Photograph Requirements:

  • Photograph must be in color.
  • Photograph must be a recent photo of the candidate.
  • Face must be clearly visible with plain background.
  • At least 50-60 % of image must be covered with face.
  • Size of the photo must not be larger than 500 KB.
